Installation time is around 30 to 45 minutes depending on your motorcycle knowledge and mechanical skill. Installation of your new HID light system is farely simple, although we always recommend for a trained professional to perform any type of modifications on your BMW F800R motorcycle.
Important
Most new resent year BMW Motorcycles come with a CANBUS system (Computer Diagnostic System) Our HID lights run at a lower wattage, which causes the motorcycles CANBUS to believe there is a fault in the system. To correct this, the motorcycle requires a 1 OFF HID CANBUS Decoder (Sold Separately) to detect the new HID upgrade. Additionally, 1 OFF provides double sided tape and zip ties with the installation packet. We recommend using just the zip ties as they better secure equipment to your bike.
Tools needed :
You will need the following tools in order to install your new 1 OFF HID light system on your BMW K1200 and K1300R Motorcycle.
To access your BMW motorcycles front headlight housing and electrical perform the following:
Step 1.
Assemble the HID light components in the following order Left to right:
Ballast - CAN-BUS module - what I call the 2nd Module

Step 2.
Drill the cap in the centre to a diameter to fit the grommet with a 1" Drill Bit, the provided grommet will fit right into the who to seal and make water proof again.

Step 3.
pass the grommet assembly through the cap (from the inside) and re thread the black & red whires through the grommet once in place
Step 4.
Make sure not to touch the bulb as it can damage the optics. You can see the black spacer in the H7 Bulb, this will lock up against the bulb. Remove the bulb clear plastic protection (unscrew the top), then cut/crack the bottom part with pliers to remove pull back & cut/crack the bottom dark bulb protector (this is needed to make space in the cap for the original halogen bulb connector)

Place the bulb in the headlight and secure it with the clip. The bulb should fit snugly in the housing.
Step 5.
Place the bulb in the headlight and fasten with clips. Once everything is through the rubber protector it’s time to plug in the POWER and GROUND wires. Insert the HID male pins in the following order into the socket, the socket facing you:
RED (power)
BLACK (ground)
MAKE SURE CONNECTORS ARE PLUGGED IN THE RIGHT SIDES!.
Place the connector sideways in the cap and replace the cap (gently pull the wires through the grommet).

Step 6.
Placing the ballast. 2nd module and CANBUS:
Make sure that no cables interfere with the steering damper "1". Slide the Ballast in the space in front of the battery "2". Tie the CAN-BUS module to the front frame routing the cable to the ballast over the grommet. Place the module with the connector facing front and at the bottom.
Step 7.
Ballast can be slid under the instruments between the holder and the base on the left side (looking at the instruments sitting on the bike). The CAN-BUS module is mounted on the same side parallel to the ballast but under the holder maintained in place with the holder's front left screw. Both modules are tied together with one of the provided plastic ties.

Clean up the wires, carefully pull them all together nice and tight and zip-tie them so it’s nice and clutter-free.
For your safety it is very important that everything is neatly tucked away, you don’t want loose wires grabbing your steering dampener or interfering with your turning.
The 2nd module is fixed with a plastic tie in the recess under the instruments top holder (between speedo & rev).
Connect the cables (route the bulb cable to the CAN-BUS module around the instruments betweeen the bottom and top holders).

test it
replace the windshield
Make sure to double check for any loose wires. Everything should be tucked away neatly. And there really should be too much visible
ENJOY YOUR NEW HIDS!
